If you do not hold any religious beliefs, a baby naming day ceremony is the perfect alternative to a Christening. Naming ceremonies are a great way to mark a new life or new beginning and I can help ensure that that is achieved in a personal and bespoke way.

A naming ceremony provides an ideal way for parents to formally welcome their child and make promises to them, supported by their closest family and friends. As with all celebrant led ceremonies, naming ceremonies are tailor made for each individual family, focusing on their unique wishes, values and tastes.

• Naming ceremonies can incorporate pretty much anything the family likes such as:

• Stating the child’s full name, and their reasons for choosing that name.

• Making promises to the child.

• Other adults chosen by the parent’s as the child’s guide parents (godparent) can also make promises to the child.

• Grandparents or other key members of the family making promises to the child.

• Readings and music can be included.

• Parents and supporting adults signing a certificate as a lasting reminder of the promises they made to the child.

• Presenting the child with a gift as a keepsake of the day.
